Well that was loud! My ‘working week’ at SoundARC kicked of Friday afternoon with the return of the ever-lovely Harry Wade and Kayleigh Moss, to finish off their latest EP. A few mix tweaks here and there and then a mastering session brought many hours of work nicely to a close. Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday saw the return of hard-rock four-piece Rough Justice. Adding two tracks (‘Dirt’ and ‘Where We Began’) to their as-yet-untitled album, the boys were sounding as heavy as ever. All that remains now is for me to master. Roy Lendor popped in Monday to continue …
Well they say no news is good news, and that certainly is true here at Freakyleaf HQ. Work has come thick and fast these past few months, so much so that I’ve just not had chance to sit and write an update. The last five days have seen all manner of sessions on at SoundARC, kicking off with Roy Lendor on Thursday. Roy has now completed his first album (which is currently waiting to be mastered), so we’re now diving head-first into a new track set for release on album number two. Friday was a real mixed bag, with some …
Well it’s always nice to be doing things, but this month ‘things’ have happened with such frequency that I’ve not had chance to post about any of them! The month started off with The Piano & Cello Duo recording three tracks live as part of the SoundARC Sessions, the results of which can be seen (and heard) below. Next up came news of a new exciting web development commission for a brand-new start-up, who wish to sell their goods through a couple of online channels. I’ll be able to share more info once the project kicks off proper. Mid-month I …
Just finished a busy four day recording and mixing stint at SoundARC, with a real mixed bag of musical projects. Friday morning saw Roy Lendor return to continue work on his début RnB/pop-tinged album. We’re just over half way through the mixing process now, and things are sounding really sweet. Friday afternoon saw Ben Drake pop in to track bass, lead guitar and keys to his soon-to-be-released single titled ‘Forever’. Got a little bit of editing to do now before we can track vocals, which are currently pencilled in to be tracked in a couple of weeks. Sunday was a …
The last three days over at SoundARC have been eclectic to say the least! Friday kicked off with RnB/pop crossover Roy Lendor laying down the vocals to his track entitled ‘Happy’. We then had Ben Toyer (A.K.A ‘MC T’) pop down in the evening to finish off his latest DnB set; everything is sounding nice and tight, although I may have overcooked the mastering a little! Note to self: Never attempt to master last thing on a Friday night! Saturday saw the return of ‘The Feckin Ejits’, continuing where we left off last weekend, with another session of old-school British …
I love working with solo musicians. It’s always a real pleasure collaborating with someone one-to-one, as I feel that through getting to know them as a person, I can do a better job in helping them fully realise their music. This week saw three familiar faces return to SoundARC, eaching bringing their own (very different) brands of music with them. Wednesday saw the return of Richard Ward (A.K.A. ‘Haw Haw’), to complete a track he started with us last week. ‘Undercut’ is an electronica/rock crossover that manages to blend a load of seemingly unrelated sounds and textures, to create something …
