Start Of A New Era – AMEK TAC Scorpion

Following hot on the heels of this post detailing the final day of the Soundcraft Series 1600 at SoundARC, I’m very excited to announce that the AMEK TAC Scorpion is now sitting pride of place in the control room. Fitting, wiring, and testing happened over the period of a week, and I’ve now had the pleasure of running my first tracking session with it (continuing the recording of Ben Drake’s latest EP). The desk sounded great, and although I was sad to see the old one go, it’s clear that this is a huge upgrade to the studio’s sound. With the extra addition of the 16 track tape machine (currently being installed), it’s going to allow us to produce some fantastic-sounding recordings.
