Sound Engineer

I have worked on a freelance basis at various studio sites for nearly nine years now. Having recorded everything from orchestras and prayer groups to folk, country, blues, indie, rock, metal, hip-hop, dance and pop spanning literally hundreds of acts, I feel that I have gained an invaluable wealth of experience to meet any studio situation head on.

Producer

I take great pleasure in overseeing a creative vision shared between people. With my productions I like to challenge and stretch the creative potential of everyone involved in a project and remain hands-on from beginning to end. I like to create an emotional journey for the listener; stirring emotions is what music is all about.

Mix Engineer

I really dislike thin, lifeless mixes. I create mixes that have a warmth; an energy. My work has been highly praised by both Abbey Road engineers and mastering engineer John Davis, amongst others. For examples of my work please visit the showreel page.

Song Writer

I've penned many a song in my lifetime; this experience means that I feel comfortable writing in any musical style and to any brief. I am able to turn ideas relayed by dictaphone into full orchestral arrangements and have the output printed to manuscript for performance or even oversee the recording myself.

Musical Arranger

Having played in orchestras for the majority of my childhood, I gained an invaluable insight into what makes a really good musical arrangement (and what doesn't!) and have since developed a sympathetic ear for arranging. I am confident producing score for any sized brief - from string quartets to symphonic orchestras and happy to create regular mocks for client approval.

Film Scorer

Session Musician

I'm a competent musician who has a deep knowledge of music theory and am happy to offer my services as session piano / keys player as well as studio bassist / guitarist.

Musician for Video

Web Designer

I am a competent web designer with a full grasp of HTML and CSS, as well as technologies such as Flash and JavaScript. My designs are all characterised by clean layout and simple navigation. Frequent meetings with clients ensure that my sites are always fit for purpose, to brief and standards-complient.

Search Engine Optimiser

More recently I have also been involved in Search Engine Optimisation. SEO is the process of improving the ranking of a web site in the search engines. This is an important procedure in web site promotion as with the right touch, your web site's traffic will effortlessly become turbo-charged! I am happy dealing in both on-site and off-site promotion, specialising in sites for small businesses.

One of the major success stories of web 2.0 is the blog. I have a thorough knowledge of WordPress and feel confident creating customised cutting-edge SEO-friendly content manageable sites. I can even host your site for a small monthly fee.

Piano Tutor

I have taught piano for many years now and can also offer tuition for budding keyboardists. Topics covered include principles of recording, project and studio management, recording and editing MIDI and audio, using virtual instruments and effects, mixing and mastering.
